Dogs for Adoption
Daisy

Hi I am Daisy, a female beagle mix around 3 years old. I am the perfect size dog at 21 lbs. I came from a shelter as a stray so there isn’t much information about my past. I get along with my doggie friends at Luna’s House and love meeting new people. I like attention so will give you my cute look and may bark to be with you. I’m pretty good on a leash and have a very sweet disposition. I enjoy sitting in your lap and snuggling. Our volunteers make sure just the right home is chosen for me so they require a home visit. You must live within a 50 mile radius of our location in order to be considered.
The adoption fee is $ 250 and includes vaccines, flea prevention treatment, neuter/spay, and micro chipping. If you'd like to meet this special dog, please contact us at dogs@lunashouse.org or APPLYLike us on Facebook!! |
Roxie ADOPTED YAY!!

Hi I am Roxie, a young Rottweiler mix about 3 years old. I weight about 45 pounds, so I am a nice sized dog that might fit right into your home. (Hint, hint) I am a very outgoing gal. I love to meet new people and other dogs too, so I have had some day trips going to adoption events while I have been here at Luna's House. When it is time to relax, I roll onto my back for belly rubs. I am looking for a very positive home, as I have had some tough times in the past. I am a little submissive, but once I know what you want, I will do my best to do what is right. I know how to sit, how to wait, and I am very good at fetch and I keep my kennel clean and go potty outside. If you have other dogs for me to play with, that would be great, I just love to play. Maybe you are looking for a friendly young girl with her whole life in front of her, to fit right into a new home, love everyone, play and learn tricks. I might turn out to be the best dog you ever had, come meet me and see if I might be your favorite.
Our volunteers make sure just the right home is chosen for me so they require a home visit. You must live within a 50 mile radius of our location in order to be considered. Sorry, no exceptions.
If you'd like to meet this special dog, please visit our new Luna's House Animal Care and Education Center located at 2801 Pulaski Highway, Edgewood, MD 21040. We prefer you to visit the dog at our facility prior to placing an application. Then APPLY and email to dogs@lunashouse.org or you can complete an application and submit while at the center. Preston

Hi! I am Preston. Can you believe it, a 6 month old Cocker Spaniel puppy as beautiful as me up for adoption? I am stunned to find myself here too. Life was going along just fine until this person, called a landlord, had some new rules and somehow that meant I had to move, so here I am looking for a new home. I weigh about 25 pounds, almost full grown. While I have been here at Luna's House I have been keeping all the dogs very busy with play time. I romp around and play with everyone; I am a very active puppy. I am learning leash manners, and I am very good at going potty outside too. Mostly I am having tons of fun! Maybe you are thinking of a young dog to raise and have in your family, and you were really hoping that you could find a dog that makes you smile just by being there with such a beautiful face and freckles too. I might just be the one! Come over to meet me, we can play together and see if we are a match. Our volunteers make sure just the right home is chosen for me so they require a home visit. You must live within a 50 mile radius of our location in order to be considered. Sorry, no exceptions.

Bruce

Hi I am Bruce, and I am a tiny solid little Pug mix. I have a tight curly tail, and adorable large ears that stand right up, so my nickname is Batman. Now imagine how this works out, Bruce (Wayne) aka Batman? I stepped right up to the challenge with a very energetic search for trouble. I like to run fast, play hard, and bark at anything that might be trouble. I am devoted to keeping things safe for everyone, so I am on constant alert. All this is getting to be a little tiring, so I am hoping for a nice calm home where I can relax and enjoy life. I just love laps; they are so good for sitting on and snuggling. Perhaps you are looking for a 8 pound bundle of love, only 2 years old who could keep you safe while loving you all the while. Bruce gets along with some dogs; it just depends on the personality of the other dog. He would be best with older children. Our volunteers make sure just the right home is chosen for me so they require a home visit. You must live within a 50 mile radius of our location in order to be considered. Sorry, no exceptions.

Petey

Hi I am Petey, a 6 year old 19 pound Cairn Terrier mix. I had been living with 3 kids and 3 cats too, but the family fell on some hard times, so now I am looking for a new home. As an adult dog, I have a great energy balance of play time along with naps to rest and just keep you company. I am very outgoing with people; I like to meet everyone and see if they might have a treat for me, or maybe just want to share some affection. I have been getting along with the other dogs, but I have to admit some of these young ones here at Luna's House just want to play all the time and don't understand the value of a nice nap! When I have had enough play time, I just sneak off for a little rest and let them play without me. I am very nice to walk on the leash and very good at going potty outside. With my scruffy coat, my adorable face, my cute as can be ears, I hope to find just the right home to stay forever. Maybe you are looking for a nice guy to share your home and your life with, come meet me! Our volunteers make sure just the right home is chosen for me so they require a home visit. You must live within a 50 mile radius of our location in order to be considered. Sorry, no exceptions.

Lilly

Hi I am Lilly, a tiny bundle of joy, just about 10 pounds, and only 2 years old. I am a little on the shy side, so when I meet new people I am cautious at first. As I am so small I am looking for a home with adults or older kids. As for being shy, once I find out that you are a good person, I relax and start to have fun. I enjoy romping around playing with my new dog friends and going for walks with the volunteers outside. I have one really good dog friend here, and I lie on my back and put my paws up in his face and we play and play! I have been trained to go potty on an indoor potty pad; I am very good at doing this. Going outside will be something new for me to learn, but I am a smart girl ready for new tricks! I am very sweet and affectionate, like all tiny lap dogs. You can pick me right up, and I will kiss your face. Maybe you are looking for a ton of fun and love all packed into a small little girl, and could come meet me. Luna's House is a very good place to stay, but I would really like to have a home and a bed to share, maybe with you? Our volunteers make sure just the right home is chosen for me so they require a home visit. You must live within a 50 mile radius of our location in order to be considered. Sorry, no exceptions.

Scotty

Hi I am Scotty, a beautiful terrier mix, about 2 years old and about 15 pounds. I was lost in Baltimore for a while, but now that I am at Luna's House I am getting good care and food every day, twice! And I have some new friends, both people who take me for walks (I am good on the leash and I go potty outside) and dog friends to play with too. I am a very affectionate guy; I will try my best to get into your lap for some dog love. Maybe you are looking for a sweet playful guy to add to your home. Come meet me! Our volunteers make sure just the right home is chosen for me so they require a home visit. You must live within a 50 mile radius of our location in order to be considered. Sorry, no exceptions.

Chance

Hi, my name is Chance. I am a Pit Bull Terrier, about 8 years old. I am the most passive, laid back guy you will meet. Nothing bothers me and I am so sweet to everyone and everything I meet. I only had minutes to live and the volunteers at Luna’s House recognized my special personality and saved me. I enjoy lying on the couch and watching TV and playing ball outside. I walk nice on a leash and love, love, love going for cars rides with my head hanging out of the window. When I sleep I need to be under a blanket to be cozy. I am deaf due to a serious ear infection I had when I arrived. I am not sure if my hearing will come back. Although I can’t hear, I never get startled and also watch for my person to see if it is time to come inside. I would do best in a home with someone who is around most of the day. I am somewhat claustrophobic and don’t like being confined to a crate. I am being fostered with lots of other dogs and have been around cats with no issues…what can I say…I am just easy going and happy to be alive!!! Please adopt me, I will be your best friend!!
Our volunteers make sure just the right home is chosen for me so they require a home visit. You must live within a 50 mile radius of our location in order to be considered. Sorry, no exceptions.

Ella

Hi I am Ella one of three sisters. I’m about 10 ½ weeks old, a Shepherd/Pit mix with pointy ears and beautiful eyes. I’m the largest, the lightest color (golden beige), and the most adventurous of the three. I like to initiate all the activity. You could say I am the most independent. I may resist being scooped up but enjoy my snuggle time in your arms-- I do need more snuggle time though. Since I am a Pit mix I will be looking for a home that is bully breed savvy and will love me for my breed and not just because I am a puppy. If you are interested, please visit our website to complete and submit an application. I am currently in foster care learning housetraining and basic manners so if your application is chosen a volunteer will call you for a meet and greet with me. Our volunteers make sure just the right home is chosen for me so they require a home visit. You must live within a 50 mile radius of our location in order to be considered.

Harrison ADOPTED YAY!!

Hi, I am Harrison, and I am a lucky dog! Why am I lucky, you might wonder? Because I am at Luna's House where life is great! I am a 1 1/2 year old Yorkshire terrier mixed with something very fluffy, soft, affectionate, and playful. I only weigh about 10 pounds, but I should weigh about 12 as I think I am a little thin. More treats please! The volunteers are so fun to be with, I bark playfully at my kennel door and they let me out to play with my dog friends. We romp around and go for walks together too. I am pretty good on the leash, but sometimes I want to play so much that I forget and pull. To make up for it I look extra cute and friendly and everyone smiles at me and we have tons of fun. I have a plan to make someone fall in love with me and take me home. I practiced on one of the volunteers and it worked; she took me home for a sleepover. Wow, was it good to be in a home again. I am really looking forward to having my own forever home. So, if you are looking for a very friendly, outgoing, playful guy who will make you smile every time you see my fluffy face, come meet me. Harrison is good with cats, dogs, and kids. Our volunteers make sure just the right home is chosen for me so they require a home visit. You must live within a 50 mile radius of our location in order to be considered. Sorry, no exceptions.

Dudley ADOPTED, YAY!!

Hi! I am Dudley, a very sweet, cheerful, active Yorkie, only about 10 pounds and about 2 or 3 years old. When I arrived at Luna's House I weighed about twice what I do now as I was having a really bad hair day because I wasn’t taken care of by my previous caretaker. I was covered in awful mats; they pulled on my skin and smelled bad! The first thing the volunteers did when I arrived was a total shave, except for my cute, fluffy head which is very good for petting. Now that I am free of my mats I am such a happy, active little guy. I really enjoy romping with all of my new dog friends, and did you know that volunteers have loving laps to share with little guys like me? What a wonderful find, lots of laps! As I was a stray in Baltimore there is not much known about my history, so when it comes to cats and kids I will just have to meet a few and see if we like each other. I am hoping for a nice loving home where a cute little guy can find some play time, some good care, and someone to love. Maybe that would be you? COME SEE ME, you will fall in love! Our volunteers make sure just the right home is chosen for me so they require a home visit. You must live within a 50 mile radius of our location in order to be considered. Sorry, no exceptions.

Belle ADOPTED YAY!!

Hi I am baby Belle, probably the runt of the three. I’m about 10 ½ weeks old, a Shepherd/Pit mix with pointy ears and beautiful eyes. I am brown with light brindle and white fur. Like Belle in Beauty and the Beast, I can be found curled up (without a book!) by myself. I just love my quiet time. I actively seek human contact and no one that I meet can resist cuddling me. I am hesitant walking outdoors and would prefer to be carried, but I will romp if my sisters are with me. I also have to play referee during my sisters wrestling matches even though I can hold my own. Since I am a Pit mix I will be looking for a home that is bully breed savvy and will love me for my breed and not just because I am a puppy. If you are interested, please visit our website to complete and submit an application. Billy ADOPTED YAY!!

Hi I am Billy, a scruffy terrier type about 7 years old, and only about 15 pounds. I have had a big change lately, my owner passed away, and there was no one else to care for me, so here I am at Luna's House looking for a new home. I am doing just fine here, playing with my new dog friends who are so nice to me. I like to go for walks, I walk nicely on the leash and I go potty outside too. I have had a bath and a trim, so when you come over to meet me you can run your hands through my soft fur, we will both like that! Being a little guy, I will fit right into your lap for some nice dog hugs and love. Maybe you are looking for a nice settled guy who will keep you company and enjoy play time too. I will be waiting with my happy wagging tail to meet you!
If you would like to meet Billy please contact us at dogs@lunashouse.org or APPLY

Carl ADOPTED YAY!!

Hi I am Carl, and I am all about food. You see, my previous owner (who could no longer care for me so I am looking for a new home) always told me that I was a good boy when I ate all of my food. So, I figured out that I would be a very good boy if I also ate table scraps, and lots of treats. I was right, they were so happy when I ate everything that I kept it up for about 2 years, that is my whole life so far. I knew I was getting pretty big, but I was a very good boy! One of the first things at Luna's is to go to the vet for a checkup, and I was a little worried that I might have to get on the scale and really find out what I weighed. How bad could it be? I am a big boned boy, and I figured that I can carry a little extra weight so I went right off to the vet to find out how I was doing. I weighed in at 120, what a shock! I know that my goal weight is 60 pounds or so, but I did not realize that it had gotten so bad. Can you relate? I am now all about diet and exercise! I have a plan with the veterinarian and the Luna's volunteers to eat a reasonable diet, and get more exercise. I hope to be at my goal weight in a year or so, we are taking it slow. As I get more fit, my personality and breed mix will emerge. Right now, I cannot really move around much without getting too hot (I am getting my summer haircut to help with this) and my breed mix is under all of this fat. So, I need a new home that will be supportive of my new lifestyle. Maybe you are interested in a sweet friendly boy who wants to lead a healthier lifestyle, and you could help me to be the dog I was meant to be. Come meet me, and see if you can see my potential to be an entirely new sort of very good boy!

Ariel ADOPTED, YAY!!

Hi I am Ariel, a beautiful Pomeranian lapdog. I have had a tough go of it lately, coming to Luna's from Baltimore where I was found as a stray. I am about 5 years old, but like any lady, I won't reveal my true age! I weigh about 15 pounds, and I am getting along well with my new dog friends. I have two tricks to share with you. When you first come to meet me, I will tell you about my day with great joy. I have a deep voice for a little dog, not at all yippy, so we can chat when you come by to meet me. My other trick is to stand up on my hind legs and wave my front paws together almost like clapping. Sometimes I get a treat for this trick, so this is my favorite. If you take a close look at my front paw you will see that I have an old injury, and I am missing a toe or two. Not to worry, I only limp a little sometimes, but I am still a very happy girl. I am working on my hairdo, I think I may have had some trouble with fleas a while ago, they are gone, but so is some of my fur on my hind legs and my tail. It is growing back now, and I have had a nice bath and blow dry, so I am looking my best. Maybe you are looking for a loving lap dog who wants nothing more than a home, and someone to love back.
If you would like to meet Ariel please contact us at dogs@lunashouse.org or APPLY |
Emma ADOPTED YAY!!!

"Hi, I am Emma, a Golden Retriever Puppy just about 3 months old. I am so sweet and very smart. I have been learning lots of good behaviors in my foster home. You may be wondering how I made my way to Luna's House and so am I! Imagine finding a Golden puppy up for adoption. I was surrendered by my owner after a very short while as they realized that they did not have quite the right home for me. I am now working with the Luna's House folks to select the perfect home this time so I can have a happily ever after. I am thinking that there will be many choices of good homes, so here is the plan. If you would like to apply to adopt me, and you live within 50 miles of Luna's House, please fill out an online application or come to the shelter to fill out an application in person. Luna's House will be accepting applications through Wednesday, April 11th. The volunteers will review the applications and select the best candidates and check references. I will stay in foster care until then, so you cannot come see me at Luna's House yet . I am too young to be spayed so this will also be a requirement when I am old enough. Once references are checked the best candidates will be contacted for a meet and greet with me. This is where I get to pick who I like best.
A home visit will be the next step. After careful consideration, the family that is the best match will be invited to complete the adoption process. |
